Residents in Gloucester can look forward to a prolonged spell of warm and sunny weather this week, with temperatures set to climb significantly above the usual seasonal average. According to the Met Office, the city will experience clear skies and dry conditions as a high pressure system dominates the region.

While Wednesday will be breezy with wind gusts reaching up to 32mph, conditions are expected to become much calmer as the week progresses. By Saturday, 25 April, temperatures are forecast to peak at 21°C. This is roughly 7 to 9 degrees warmer than the typical April average of 12°C to 14°C for the area.

The forecast remains dry with almost no chance of rain throughout the week, offering ideal conditions for outdoor activities and gardening. However, those who suffer from hay fever should be aware that pollen levels will be high from Wednesday through Saturday. These levels are expected to rise to very high on Sunday, 26 April.

This warm trend follows an unusually mild start to the month across the UK. Earlier on 8 April, the country recorded its hottest temperature for the first half of April since 1946, reaching 26°C.
