Residents in Gateshead who have used local physiotherapy services are being asked to share their experiences as part of a new survey launched by Healthwatch Gateshead. The organisation wants to understand how well services, such as those provided by Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust, match what patients expected when they were referred for treatment.

The survey is open to anyone who has received physiotherapy in the area, with a particular focus on hearing from people living with long-term health conditions. By collecting feedback, the group hopes to identify which parts of the service are working well and where improvements can be made to better support the community. This work includes feedback on integrated services like Tyneside Integrated Musculoskeletal Services, which provides joint care for muscle, joint, and soft tissue conditions across Newcastle and Gateshead.

The feedback process is being run by Healthwatch Gateshead, which is operated by Tell Us North CIC. Anyone wishing to take part can fill out the survey online via SmartSurvey, or they can contact the organisation by email or phone to provide their views. Participation remains open until 29 May, 2026.

This latest initiative follows the organisation’s 2026 annual survey, which gathered views from 237 local people on a range of health and social care topics. Despite government announcements from June 2025 regarding the future restructuring of local groups, Healthwatch Gateshead continues its work to ensure the voices of residents remain central to local healthcare planning.
