A 33-year-old man from Northampton has been sentenced to three years and six months in prison after being found guilty of secretly filming women in their homes and workplaces. Jean-Pierre Francis was sentenced at Northampton Crown Court on 17 April 2026, following his guilty plea to six counts of voyeurism.
The investigation by Northamptonshire Police began in May 2024 after a woman discovered a hidden camera in her bedroom. This discovery led officers to uncover a decade of criminal activity, with police finding hundreds of images and videos recorded between 2015 and 2025. Investigations revealed that Francis had concealed cameras inside everyday objects, including USB sticks, pens, electrical plugs, and a shower gel bottle.
Six women, ranging in age from their 20s to their 60s, were identified as victims of these offences. Francis, who pleaded guilty to the charges on 13 March 2026, received a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order as part of his sentencing. This order strictly bans him from owning any mobile phones with cameras or any other types of recording devices.
In addition to the prison sentence and the prevention order, Francis has been placed on the Sex Offenders Register for the rest of his life. The court also issued a destruction order for all the devices recovered during the police investigation.
