Residents in Wellingborough should prepare for cooler temperatures and stronger winds starting early next week. According to the Met Office, the recent warm spell is set to give way to breezier conditions beginning on Tuesday, 28 April 2026.

After a weekend that saw temperatures reaching 19°C, thermometers are expected to drop to around 15°C by Tuesday. Because of an increase in wind speeds, the temperature will feel closer to 11°C for those spending time outdoors. Local wind gusts are expected to rise from approximately 18mph on Monday to 27mph on Tuesday, peaking at 30mph on Wednesday.

Despite the change in temperature and wind, the forecast remains largely dry. High pressure is expected to continue influencing weather across the country, which should maintain clear and sunny intervals throughout the week. There are currently no weather warnings in place for the region.

With wind gusts reaching up to 30mph by mid-week, residents may want to secure any loose items kept in gardens or on balconies. While conditions will feel cooler than the recent average, the Met Office notes that these changes are a standard part of the spring weather pattern for the area.
