Residents in Luton can expect a brighter and warmer week ahead as temperatures climb, though they should prepare for some blustery conditions and wet weather early on. According to the Met Office, the town will see a transition to more settled conditions following a cold start to the weekend.

The week begins with a shift in the weather as rain is expected to move in on Monday afternoon. Forecasters anticipate a 50 per cent chance of precipitation by 4pm, with the likelihood of heavy rain increasing to between 80 and 90 per cent during the evening. This wet weather is expected to linger into the early hours of Tuesday, with a 60 per cent chance of showers continuing until roughly 4am. Residents should note that conditions are expected to become predominantly dry from Tuesday late morning onwards.

While the latter half of the week promises plenty of sunshine, it will also be quite windy. Tuesday is forecast to see wind gusts reaching 33mph, with Wednesday expected to be the windiest day of the week, featuring gusts of up to 38mph. Given these conditions, homeowners may want to secure any loose garden furniture or items kept outdoors.

Temperatures are on an upward trend, moving from the chilly 1.5°C recorded on Sunday morning towards a much warmer peak of 21°C by Friday, 1 May. Those who suffer from hay fever should be aware that high levels of oak pollen are forecast for Monday and again from Wednesday through Saturday.
