Residents in Colchester can look forward to a week of predominantly dry and sunny weather, though hay fever sufferers should prepare for high pollen levels. According to the Met Office, temperatures will climb throughout the week, starting at 16°C on Tuesday and reaching a peak of 21°C by Saturday 2 May.

While the weather will be ideal for outdoor activities and gardening, the period is marked by high concentrations of tree pollen. Pollen levels are forecast to be high on Monday 27 April, Wednesday 29 April, Thursday 30 April, and Friday 1 May, with oak pollen identified as the main contributor in the region. Tuesday 28 April is expected to offer a brief respite with lower pollen levels.

Mid-week conditions on Wednesday and Thursday will be largely dry with plenty of sunshine, though the weather will be accompanied by strong east to southeast breezes with gusts reaching up to 39mph on Wednesday. As the week progresses into the weekend, conditions remain warm with temperatures of 19°C on Friday and 20°C on Sunday, although winds will ease to between 19mph and 20mph.

The Met Office advises that UV levels will be moderate during midday hours throughout the week, and residents are encouraged to wear sunscreen if spending time outdoors. Looking further ahead, the weather is expected to become more changeable from the start of May, with an increased risk of showers and rain as low-pressure systems move into the area.
