Peterborough residents can attend a special evening of music at Peterborough Cathedral on 16 May 2026, as the venue hosts the Men United in Song 2026 concert. Starting at 7:30pm, the performance will feature a pop-up choir of approximately 40 local men who have spent ten weeks preparing a repertoire of choral favourites, ballads, and songs from the shows.

The project is managed by the Peterborough Male Voice Choir, an award-winning group founded in 1935 and currently ranked 16th in the world by the international organisation INTERKULTUR. The initiative aims to introduce local men to the benefits of group singing, with most participants having little or no previous musical experience. This year marks another chapter for the programme, which has been raising funds for Prostate Cancer UK since 2014.

The choir is led by Will Prideaux, who has served as the director of Peterborough Sings! since 2010. His work in expanding community choral opportunities earned him a Civic Award from Peterborough City Council in 2016. Under his guidance, the project has grown significantly, including a 2024 national event where more than 400 men performed at Nottingham’s Albert Hall to raise nearly £100,000 for the charity.

Residents interested in attending the performance at the historic cathedral can find ticket information through the Peterborough Sings! website.
