Businesses in Gloucester can now sign up for new professional training sessions designed to improve workplace safety and emergency response. Gloucester BID, in partnership with Gloucester City Safe, opened registration for the programme on 15 April 2026.

The training initiative is open to businesses of all types, including retail shops, hospitality venues, offices, and service providers across the city centre. The available courses focus on essential safety skills, covering First Aid at Work, Defib Training, Workplace Mental Health, Fire Marshall duties, and general Fire Safety Training. These sessions aim to help staff effectively manage medical incidents, fire risks, and security concerns.

Business owners who register their interest now will receive updates on training dates as they are confirmed. Participants will also have the opportunity to help shape the programme to meet local demands and will be the first to secure places when official booking opens. Registration is available directly through the Gloucester BID website.

Gloucester BID is a business-led, non-profit organisation that supports more than 600 city centre businesses. It is funded through a mandatory levy and operates under a five-year business plan. Gloucester City Safe is a not-for-profit partnership established in 2014 that works to reduce crime, disorder, and antisocial behaviour across the city.
