Residents in Royal Tunbridge Wells can expect a shift from warm, sunny weather to cooler and more unsettled conditions over the upcoming Bank Holiday weekend, according to the Met Office.

Thursday and Friday will remain warm and mostly sunny as the area enjoys a final stretch of clear weather. Temperatures are expected to reach 21°C on Thursday, followed by a peak of 22°C on Friday. While these days provide a pleasant start to the period, the Met Office warns that conditions will turn increasingly unsettled starting Friday evening.

The weather is set to change significantly heading into the weekend. While Saturday will feature sunny intervals with a high of 21°C, there is an 80% chance of rain by late evening. Sunday will be overcast with light rain likely in the early morning and temperatures dropping to 18°C, feeling more like 15°C. This cooler trend will continue into Bank Holiday Monday, which is expected to be cloudy with a high of 16°C and a possibility of afternoon rain.

Those planning outdoor activities should also be aware of shifting pollen counts. Levels will remain high from Thursday through Saturday, before dropping to low on Sunday and moderate on Monday. The upcoming change follows a period of exceptionally dry weather, as much of eastern England has seen very little rainfall throughout April.
