A new skatepark will officially open at The Views on Harlington Way in Fleet on Monday 18 May 2026 at 4pm. Fleet Town Council is inviting all local residents to attend the launch of the replacement facility.

The new site replaces the original skatepark, which was closed after a safety inspection by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents found that structural parts had reached the end of their safe working life. The council secured a loan from the Public Works Loan Board to fund the project.

The facility was built by Fearless Ramps Ltd at a cost of £160,689.80, which came in significantly under the initial budget. The design is intended to be inclusive for users of skateboards, scooters, inline skates, and BMX bikes, featuring dedicated zones for different skill levels and using quieter materials to reduce noise for the surrounding area.

The original skatepark was first installed by Hart District Council in 2004 or 2005 and later transferred to the town council. It houses a memorial plaque for Michael Bews, who helped campaign for its creation. The site is also known for hosting the annual Scam Jam contest, organised by the community group Fleet Phoenix as a tribute to local resident Alex Godbold.
