A Gloucestershire Police officer has been dismissed without notice following a gross misconduct hearing held at the force’s headquarters on 29 April 2026. PC Samuel Jameson was removed from his position after a panel determined he had engaged in predatory and misogynistic behaviour toward female colleagues and members of the public.
The officer had been suspended from duty since April 2023, when concerns regarding his conduct first emerged. This triggered an investigation by the Gloucestershire Constabulary Professional Standards Department, which ultimately led to the formal hearing.
Evidence presented at the hearing revealed that PC Jameson had directed sexually inappropriate comments toward a student officer under his supervision. These included suggestions that the officer should end her relationship with her partner and questions regarding which tutor she would most like to sleep with. Beyond this incident, the panel found that he regularly made derogatory and sexualised comments about female members of the public while on duty, as well as disparaging remarks about his female colleagues.
Deputy Chief Constable Katy Barrow-Grint condemned the behaviour, describing it as predatory and misogynistic. She stated that there is no place within the force for officers who abuse their position to take advantage of less experienced staff or who act in a derogatory manner toward the public.
Following the dismissal, PC Jameson’s name has been added to the Police Barred List. This list is maintained by the College of Policing and serves to permanently prevent him from holding any future employment in policing.
