Residents in Reading should prepare for a week of changeable spring weather, with the Met Office forecasting a mix of sunshine, cloud cover, and scattered showers between 4 May and 10 May 2026. Temperatures throughout the week are expected to remain between 14°C and 18°C.

Wednesday 6 May will be the coolest day of the week with a daytime high of 14°C and overnight temperatures dipping to 4°C. While cloud cover will dominate the forecast, Tuesday and Thursday offer the best opportunities for sunny intervals. Thursday will also see a high UV index, and residents spending time outdoors are encouraged to wear sunscreen and seek shade during the middle of the day.

The weather will remain breezy throughout the week, with wind gusts reaching 23mph on Tuesday and Wednesday. Gusts are expected to increase over the weekend, reaching up to 24mph by Sunday. Those planning outdoor activities should be prepared for rapid changes in conditions and keep rainwear handy, particularly with a 50 per cent chance of rain forecast for Monday morning and again on Sunday.

Despite the unsettled conditions, pollen levels are expected to remain low throughout the week. Air quality across the region is also forecasted to stay in the low to moderate range.
