Patients and visitors at the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford should plan for extra travel time starting Tuesday 5 May 2026, as building works get underway at the main entrance.

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is installing new entrance doors to the rear of the Admin Hub and entrance block. These improvements are expected to last for three weeks.

During this period, access to the main entrance will be diverted to either side of the entrance block. While these changes are in place, the hospital has confirmed that access to the offices, the Market Express shop, the Costa coffee shop, and public toilets will remain unaffected.

This project is part of ongoing site upgrades at the hospital. These improvements follow recent developments such as the opening of a 24 million pound Planned Care Hub and the removal of specific concrete materials from the kitchen area.
