Residents in Fleet can look forward to a brief spell of warm weather this week, with temperatures expected to reach significantly above the seasonal average before rain moves back into the area this weekend.

According to the Met Office, Wednesday 6 May will see a high of 14°C with sunny intervals, dropping to a low of 3°C overnight. The warming trend will continue through the week, with The Weather Outlook predicting mild conditions on Friday 8 May with temperatures near 18°C.

Saturday 9 May is set to be the warmest day, with the thermometer climbing to 22°C. This is roughly 6°C higher than the historical average maximum daytime temperature for Hampshire, which typically sits at 16°C in May.

Those planning outdoor activities should aim to get out earlier in the day on Saturday. While the morning will see sunny intervals, light rain or showers are expected to move in during the afternoon. The chance of precipitation is expected to rise to 50% by 4pm.

Looking further ahead, the Met Office long-range forecast suggests that temperatures are likely to return to near or below average levels for the middle and latter parts of May. Residents should also be aware of an ongoing risk of overnight frost in rural or sheltered areas as the month progresses.
