Cheshire Constabulary has released CCTV images of two people as part of an investigation into a shoplifting incident in Warrington. The appeal follows a theft at the Footasylum store in the Golden Square Shopping Centre, where approximately £900 worth of clothing was taken.

The incident occurred on Monday 20 April 2026, between 1.57pm and 2.09pm. According to police reports, a man and a woman entered the shop and left with the items without making any attempt to pay.

DC Tina Jackson from Cheshire Constabulary, who is assisting with the investigation, has urged anyone who recognises the individuals in the images to contact the police. She also called on the two people pictured to come forward and speak with officers.

This investigation continues the force’s recent focus on retail crime. In March 2026, Cheshire Constabulary conducted a week-long effort to combat shoplifting, resulting in 32 arrests across the county, five of which were made in Warrington. As part of these enforcement efforts, the force has been using facial recognition technology to identify suspects from CCTV and body-worn camera footage.

Members of the public with information regarding the incident at Footasylum should contact the police via their website or by calling 101, quoting incident reference number 26000310747.
