Members of the armed forces community in Telford are invited to take part in an upcoming quiz night at the Christopher Turley Armed Forces Community Hub on 7 May 2026. The event, which begins at 5:30pm, offers a chance for serving personnel, veterans, and their families to socialise and enjoy some friendly competition.
Tickets for the quiz cost £2.50 each. Because of the size of the venue, groups are limited to a maximum of four people per team. Attendees will need to confirm their connection to the armed forces when booking their places through Tickets Telford.
The community hub is located at 22 Burton Street in Dawley. It was opened in October 2025 as a partnership between Telford & Wrekin Council, Great Dawley Town Council, and the mental health charity Telford Mind. The facility is named in honour of the late Chris Turley, a former councillor who served 22 years in the armed forces.
The centre serves as a dedicated space for those with military connections to access support services, including help with housing, health and wellbeing, and employment. In March 2026, the hub was awarded over £670,000 from the Office for Veterans’ Affairs to further expand the support available to the local military community.
