Children in Sunderland will have a variety of activities to choose from this May half-term, with the Foundation of Light announcing its latest programme of holiday courses. The sessions are set to begin on Tuesday 26 May, offering local families options to keep youngsters active and engaged during the school break.

The programme features a wide range of activities, including football camps, holiday clubs, and baking sessions. The charity is also hosting inclusive sports sessions specifically designed for children with special educational needs and disabilities. All courses are led by coaches qualified by the Football Association.

Sessions will take place at several locations, including the Beacon of Light, the Beamish Football Centre, and Wellfield Community School. Prices for the holiday courses start from £10 per session. Families interested in booking a spot for their children can manage their registrations through the Abler online platform.

As the official charity of Sunderland AFC, the Foundation of Light has provided holiday programmes for nearly 25 years. The organisation, described as one of the largest football-club charities in the UK, operates out of the Beacon of Light, a five-storey community hub located next to the Stadium of Light.
