The Poole Pirates have introduced a new youth engagement programme called Kids Crew, designed to inspire the next generation of speedway fans in Poole. Created in partnership with Splashdown Waterpark, the initiative is open to children aged 0 to 16.
The programme will officially launch on Wednesday 20 May 2026, during the Pirates’ home fixture against the Oxford Cheetahs at Wimborne Road. According to the Poole Pirates, the club aims to foster a deeper connection between young people and the sport alongside their established school visit programme.
Families can sign up for a 2026 season membership for £20. This membership includes several exclusive items, such as a team photo, a branded pen, a membership card, and a Kids Crew t-shirt. Members will also be entered into a ballot for the chance to serve as a meeting mascot.
For each home meeting, a dedicated Kids Crew zone will be set up in the West Grandstand bar area. This space will be open to young fans from 6:30pm until 7:15pm before the racing begins. Promoter Dan Ford highlighted that the project is part of a broader club strategy to engage local youth and build a lasting interest in speedway.
