Wolverhampton Art Gallery will host a major exhibition featuring the work of influential artist Andy Warhol from 23 May to 4 October 2026. Titled Andy Warhol: Art Star, the exhibition is part of the ARTIST ROOMS touring collection, presented in partnership with Tate and National Galleries of Scotland.

The collection features a wide variety of drawings, screenprints, paintings, and photographs spanning the 1950s to the 1980s. Visitors will be able to view iconic images of Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, The Beatles, and the famous Campbell’s Soup works. The display also includes lesser-known pieces, such as early commercial illustrations and paintings from the 1980s that were never shown during the artist’s lifetime.

A unique feature of this exhibition is the connection to the gallery’s own holdings. The Wolverhampton Art Gallery, which houses one of the largest Pop Art collections outside of London, will display its own 1968 Campbell’s Soup piece alongside the touring collection. Councillor Chris Burden, the Cabinet Member for City Development, Jobs and Skills, noted that hosting the world-renowned artist serves as a testament to the city’s growing reputation as a cultural destination.

Entry for children and young people under 21 is free. Standard adult tickets cost £9.00, while concessions for students and those on Universal Credit are £4.50. To help improve access, the gallery is also offering pay-what-you-can days on Sunday 6 September and Sunday 20 September 2026.
