Residents in Ipswich looking to improve their technology skills can attend monthly workshops held at Ipswich County Library. The sessions, which take place on the first Thursday of every month from 14:00 to 16:00, are designed to help both beginners and intermediate users gain confidence with their devices.

These workshops are run in partnership with Lxpert, an organisation that connects people with IT specialists. During the sessions, attendees can receive hands-on guidance from both library volunteers and accredited experts. Participants are encouraged to bring their own smartphones, tablets, or laptops to work on specific tasks, such as managing emails, navigating apps, organising photos, or learning how to use tools like Google Maps and WhatsApp.

The programme has been a staple of the community since at least 2018, having hosted its 51st session earlier this year in March. Since 1 June 2025, the library has operated as part of Suffolk Community Libraries, under the management of Suffolk County Council.

Each workshop costs £5 per person. Because spaces are limited, organisers ask that residents book their place in advance by contacting the library directly.
