Two men from North London have been sentenced for running a drug supply operation in Crawley after being caught by police during a raid earlier this year. The pair were apprehended on 12 March 2026 at a property on Langley Drive, where officers witnessed a package of drugs being thrown from a window.
Ali Abdiqadir, 25, of Braemar Avenue, Brent, London, was sentenced to two years in prison at Lewes Crown Court on 27 April 2026. His co-defendant, Bashir Mohammed, 27, of Canterbury Terrace, Brent, London, received a two-year suspended prison sentence. As part of his sentencing, Mohammed was ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work, attend 10 rehabilitation activity sessions, and pay a £187 surcharge.
The men were involved in the ‘Silver’ County Lines drug operation, which distributed crack cocaine from a shared rental home in the town. During the investigation, authorities seized £5,945 under the Proceeds of Crime Act. Both men pleaded guilty at Crawley Magistrates’ Court to charges of possession of crack cocaine with intent to supply, money laundering, and possession of cannabis.
Chief Superintendent Imran Asghar of Sussex Police said: “We know that organised criminal groups exploit vulnerable and young people to supply drugs which cause immense harm in our communities. These individuals from London were operating from a shared rental home in Crawley.” He added that the police remain focused on targeting illegal drug activity to ensure the safety of the area.
