Luton Borough Council has launched a new artificial intelligence-powered website, Just Ask Aisha, to help residents across Bedfordshire find local work and training opportunities.

The online portal, which can be found at lutonjobsandskills.co.uk, arrives as the town reports a significant boost in its workforce. During 2025, the number of employed people in the area rose by 9,200, bringing the total to 103,300. This is the highest level of employment in the town in more than three years.

The platform features an AI adviser named Aisha, which asks users questions to build personalised job pathways based on their specific ambitions and interests. The service is designed to be accessible to all residents, offering support in 17 different languages and including built-in accessibility tools.

Councillor Javeria Hussain, the council’s portfolio holder for employability, skills and education, said the site reflects the diverse and ambitious nature of the town. She noted that the platform was developed by listening to resident feedback regarding the support they need to find the right training and employment.

The initiative is a partnership between the council, Luton Adult Learning, higher education institutions, and a variety of local employers. Nik Jones, HR director at London Luton Airport, said that creating jobs and career opportunities for local people remains a top priority for the airport, which continues to be a major employer in the region.
