Residents in Cheltenham should prepare for a spell of wet and windy weather arriving in the middle of this week. According to the Met Office, the area will experience blustery conditions with showers throughout Wednesday 13 May and Thursday 14 May.

Wednesday is expected to be the windiest day of the week, with gusts reaching up to 39mph around 2pm. The town will see a high chance of rain, between 80 and 90 percent, from 6am through the mid-morning hours, with temperatures peaking at 14°C.

The unsettled weather will continue into Thursday 14 May, which will see further light showers and a maximum temperature of 14°C. While wind speeds will be lower than the previous day, gusts are still expected to reach up to 25mph.

The South West England regional forecast warns of generally blustery conditions and a risk of frost overnight as temperatures drop. Residents are encouraged to secure any loose items in their gardens ahead of the stronger winds on Wednesday.

This information is based on a forecast update provided by the Met Office at 5:53am on Monday 11 May 2026.
