The Joseph Rowntree Theatre in York has announced a diverse series of upcoming performances, offering residents a busy season of musicals, plays, dance, and live music between 14 May and 6 June 2026. The historic venue, which is run by a team of more than 180 volunteers, will host a range of local and touring productions.
The entertainment begins this week with the York St John Musical Production Society presenting Grease the Musical from 14 to 16 May. Following this, the York Musical Theatre Company will take the stage with Calendar Girls The Musical, running from 20 to 23 May. During the same period, the theatre will host a triple bill of new plays featuring the performances Early Blight, The Rats, and Carrot.
The schedule continues with live music from The Upbeat Beatles on 24 May. As the month draws to a close, the En Pointe Dance School will present their dance show, Rhythm of Earth, on 30 and 31 May, which will include separate performances by junior and senior students.
