The Farmers Market is returning to Leigh-on-Sea on Saturday, 30 May 2026, bringing a variety of local food and goods back to the community. Organised by Leigh Town Council, the event will take place at the Leigh Community Centre, 71-73 Elm Road, Leigh-on-Sea, Essex SS9 1SP from 10.00am to 2.00pm.

Residents can visit a selection of stalls featuring fresh produce and artisan goods. Confirmed sellers for the relaunch include Ann Cushion with local honey, Bespoke Bites, Cheesecake on Sea, Pachamama Potions, Flour & Spoon, Lauriston Farm, Foxglove Apothecary, Plant Faced Coffee, Samosa Shack, and Croissant Culture. Further traders are expected to join the line-up.

This event marks a continuation for the market, which was originally established in 2000 by the late Councillor Janet Hammond with the support of then Council Chairman Donald Fraser. The market has seen various changes over its 26-year history, including closure due to the pandemic from February 2020 to June 2021 (during which it operated virtually) and a brief closure in mid-2022 due to reduced stalls and attendance before reopening.

Leigh Town Council serves as the local government authority for the area, having been established in 1996 to focus on community well-being. The council continues to manage the Leigh Community Centre, which remains a hub for local events and gatherings.
