The Family Medical Centre (Sood) on Carlton Road in Nottingham will close for staff training on Tuesday 19 May 2026 starting at 12:15pm. The practice will reopen for patients at 8:00am on Wednesday 20 May 2026.

During the closure, the surgery’s booking system will be unavailable. Patients who require urgent medical care while the practice is closed are advised to contact NHS 111 for assistance.

Staff training days are a standard requirement for GP practices to ensure teams remain compliant with statutory and mandatory training, which covers essential topics such as safeguarding, basic life support, and information governance. These sessions are held periodically throughout the year to maintain service standards.

The surgery, located at 171 Carlton Road, rates as “Outstanding” at it’s last full inspection in 2016 from the Care Quality Commission, with Outstanding ratings across several categories including its responsive and well-led services and remains under CQC review. The practice remains open to new patients seeking registration at this location.
