Torquay United has released its retained list for the 2025/26 season following the conclusion of the campaign, marking the start of preparations for the year ahead.

The Torquay United announcement, issued on 13 May 2026, follows discussions with all players after the club finished third in the National League South and subsequently lost the play-off final on 9 May. First Team Manager Jimmy Ball, who was appointed in March 2026, has indicated that his recruitment priorities for the new season are focused on adding pace and character to the squad.

Among the confirmed changes, centre-back Jordan Dyer has signed a contract extension. The 25-year-old has made 77 appearances for the club over the past two seasons. Additionally, the club confirmed that four loan players have returned to their parent clubs: goalkeeper Seb Stacey (MK Dons), midfielder Will Tizzard (Sutton), and players Reece Evans (Reading) and Charlie Osborne (AFC Bournemouth).

Manager Jimmy Ball is also looking to retain striker Deon Moore, who joined the team in mid-March and scored eight goals in the final five games of the season. With the current squad size of 26 players considered too large, Ball has stated that he plans to manage the club’s finances responsibly to ensure long-term stability.
