Passengers travelling in Reading and the surrounding areas are being advised that bus timetables will change on some routes starting Monday 1 June 2026. Reading Buses has announced that these updates may affect journey times and service frequencies for those using the network.

The operator, which is owned by Reading Borough Council, serves approximately 52 routes across Berkshire and neighbouring counties. Residents who rely on the bus service are encouraged to check the official company website or mobile app before they travel from the beginning of next month to ensure they have the most up-to-date information for their specific journeys.

These adjustments are part of a regular programme of reviews overseen by the company’s leadership, including Chief Executive Officer Robert Williams. The municipal ownership structure of the bus service remains a unique feature for the area, allowing the company to reinvest approximately £3 million annually into the network, as it does not pay dividends to private shareholders.
