The second annual Northampton Volunteer Fair is set to take place at the Weston Favell Shopping Centre on Tuesday 2 June 2026. Running from 10am to 3pm, the event aims to connect local residents with community organisations and charities looking for new volunteers.

This year’s fair is being organised by NLive Radio and Voluntary Impact Northamptonshire. The event is a centrepiece of this year’s National Volunteers’ Week, a UK-wide campaign celebrating the contributions of volunteers that runs from 1 to 7 June 2026.

The event builds on the success of the inaugural volunteer fair, which was held in June 2025 at Northampton Market Square. By moving to the shopping centre, the organisers hope to reach a larger audience in a high-traffic community venue. Voluntary Impact Northamptonshire, an organisation that has supported the county’s voluntary sector for 36 years, will be on hand to help match potential volunteers with roles that suit their interests and skills.

During the fair, NLive Radio will broadcast its community programme, Undiscovered Northampton, live from the site between 10am and 1pm. The programme, which typically focuses on local charities, community groups, and cultural topics, will provide attendees with further insight into the work of participating organisations.

The Weston Favell Shopping Centre continues to show a strong commitment to local causes. Through its Community Zone initiative, the centre has raised over £20,916 for local groups and charities over the past year. These funds have supported various organisations, including the 43rd Northampton Scout Group, Cynthia Spencer Hospice, Baby Basics, and the Happy at Home Scheme.

The volunteer fair is free for the public to attend. Representatives from a variety of local groups will be present to answer questions and assist with the sign-up process for those interested in getting involved.
