The Princes Theatre in Clacton-on-Sea has received a Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award for the 11th consecutive year. Located inside the Grade II listed Clacton Town Hall, the theatre first opened its doors on 14 April 1931. Today, the venue remains the highest-rated attraction in Clacton-on-Sea on the platform.
Councillor Gary Scott, Cabinet Member for Arts, Culture and Heritage, stated that the award reflects the passion, professionalism, and commitment of the entire team, both front of house and behind the scenes. General Theatre Manager Kai Aberdeen oversees the site, which currently holds a capacity of 820 seats.
The theatre continues to serve the community by hosting more than 150 events annually, ranging from stage performances and exhibitions to weddings and public meetings.
