Police Seek Witnesses After Violent Burglary in Warrington

Detectives are appealing for information after a man was seriously injured during an aggravated burglary in the Callands area of Warrington on the evening of Wednesday, 13 May 2026. The incident occurred shortly before 11pm at a home on Fairbrother Crescent in the Poplars and Hulme ward, where intruders forced their way inside and assaulted the 56-year-old occupant.

The man suffered serious head injuries during the attack. Police have confirmed that his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Detective Inspector David Schofield of Cheshire Constabulary stated that initial enquiries suggest this was a targeted attack and there is no wider risk to the local community. To reassure residents, the local policing team has increased patrols in the area.
