Residents in Bootle can expect a period of unsettled weather early this week, as the Met Office warns of light rain and strong wind gusts for Tuesday, 19 May 2026. While the week starts with blustery conditions, the weather is set to improve significantly by the end of the week, with sunny spells expected to bring warmer temperatures.

For Tuesday, the forecast for the region indicates wind gusts reaching up to 29mph alongside light rain and cloud cover. Daytime temperatures are expected to reach a maximum of 18°C. According to the Environment Agency, there are currently no active flood warnings or alerts in place for the area.

Following the initial wet weather, conditions will turn drier and brighter from Wednesday, leading into a much warmer outlook. By Friday, 22 May, the weather is expected to clear, with temperatures climbing throughout the weekend to reach a high of 26°C by Sunday, 24 May.

As the town looks ahead to the changing conditions, Sefton Council continues its work as the Lead Local Flood Authority. The council is responsible for managing risks from surface water, groundwater, and local watercourses, keeping a close watch on areas known for flooding following significant rainfall events in the past, including instances in 2010, 2013, and September 2024.
