Gloucester City Homes has launched its 2026 garden competition, inviting tenants and leaseholders in Gloucester to showcase their outdoor spaces for a chance to win gardening vouchers.

The annual event is open to all residents, regardless of the size or type of their outdoor area. Whether tenants have traditional garden plots, small front gardens, balconies, or simply a collection of pots and planters, they are encouraged to submit their entries. The competition serves as a way for the housing association to celebrate creativity and community pride among the approximately 12,500 customers it supports across the city.

This year, the organisation has introduced a new challenge for children and families. Participants are invited to build a bug hotel using recycled materials found around the home and garden, which aims to provide shelter for local insects and pollinators.

To enter the competition, residents must submit photos of their gardens or their bug hotel projects by Friday 3 July 2026. Submissions can be made by completing the online entry form on the organisation’s website, messaging the Gloucester City Homes Facebook page, or by emailing [email protected]. Entrants are required to include their name, address, and photographs with their submission.

All eligible entries will be featured on the organisation’s Facebook page. A public vote will also be held, with the entry that receives the most reactions and comments by mid-July being named the winner of the audience prize.
