Warrington residents can expect a significant change in the weather this week, with cool and damp conditions making way for warm, sunny spells in time for the Bank Holiday weekend. According to the Met Office, temperatures in the area are set to climb from 17°C on Wednesday to 24°C by Friday, with the warm trend continuing through the weekend.

The week will begin with some unsettled weather, including a 60% chance of light rain at 6am on Thursday morning. However, forecasters expect the rain to clear by mid-morning, with the remainder of the week offering light winds generally between 4mph and 10mph. This shift, described by Met Office Deputy Chief Forecaster Tony Wisson as a marked contrast from recent days, is expected to bring fine and settled conditions to the area.

While the Bank Holiday is shaping up to be ideal for outdoor activities, the Met Office advises that UV levels will be high during the midday hours from Friday through Tuesday. Residents should take precautions by wearing sunscreen, seeking shade, and covering up during peak sun exposure times. There are currently no weather warnings in force for Warrington.

Local conditions are expected to remain comfortable throughout the period, with both pollen and air pollution levels forecast to stay low. For local businesses that depend on visitor spending, the arrival of sunny weather is a welcome development. Eddy Leviten, Executive Director of the Tourism Alliance, said: “A sunny Bank Holiday makes a real difference to the businesses that depend on visitor spend.”
