Residents in Reading can look forward to the warmest weather of the year so far this weekend, as the Met Office forecasts sunny skies and rising temperatures for the upcoming Bank Holiday.

The pleasant conditions are expected to begin on Friday 22 May, with temperatures potentially reaching 27°C. This trend will continue through the weekend, with Saturday 23 May hitting 28°C and Sunday 24 May reaching 29°C. Deputy Chief Forecaster Tony Wisson noted that the forecast represents a marked contrast to the cooler, unsettled weather seen in recent days, with fine and settled conditions expected for many.

With minimal chance of rain and light winds, the weather provides ideal conditions for outdoor activities during the Bank Holiday period. However, those planning to spend time outside should take note of health precautions. The weather forecast indicates that UV levels will be high during midday hours, and the organisation advises people to seek shade, cover up, and apply sunscreen.

Hay fever sufferers should also prepare for high pollen levels, which are expected from Friday 22 May onwards and will persist through the weekend. These levels are likely to continue into the following week, according to current meteorological data.
