A new emergency anaphylaxis kit has been installed at the Telford Centre in Shropshire, providing visitors with a potentially life-saving resource in the event of a severe allergic reaction. The unit is located at the Customer Service Desk and is part of a national rollout by Kitt Medical, a company that provides wall-mounted kits containing adrenaline auto-injectors.
The kit features adrenaline pens, such as Jext or EpiPen, which are intended to be used by trained staff members but can also be used by the public in an emergency, as instructions are provided on each pen. Sonny Stewart, Dual Services Manager at Westgrove Facilities Management, stated, “The installation of the anaphylaxis kit at Telford Centre is a proactive step at addressing the importance of recognising the risk of a severe allergic reaction in the work place, or by one of the centre’s visitors.”
Kitt Medical was co-founded by Zak Marks, who was inspired to develop the service after living with a severe nut allergy since the age of 5. The business gained national attention in February 2025 when it secured a £75,000 investment from Deborah Meaden and Steven Bartlett on the television programme Dragons’ Den. Since launching in January 2023, the company has deployed over 2,000 kits across schools and businesses in the UK, which have been used to treat more than 30 life-threatening allergic reactions.
The Telford Centre already maintains three defibrillators on-site and employs first aid trained staff across its security, car park, housekeeping, and management teams. With 44% of British adults now suffering from at least one allergy, the centre joins other major UK venues such as the O2 Arena and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in adopting these emergency resources. The service includes ongoing support through unlimited online training for staff and an annual subscription that ensures adrenaline pens are replaced before they expire.
