Hampshire Constabulary has issued a witness appeal following a road traffic collision on Great Binfields Road in the Lychpit area of Basingstoke. The police are requesting that anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who possesses relevant dash cam footage come forward to assist with their ongoing investigation.

The collision, which occurred on Saturday 23 May 2026 at approximately 2pm, involved a Mercedes-Benz E 220 and a Skoda Skala. The incident resulted in a woman being taken to hospital for treatment. Great Binfields Road, which falls within the Basingstoke East policing neighbourhood, remains a focus for local officers as they gather information regarding the circumstances of the crash.

This appeal follows other recent witness appeals issued by Hampshire Constabulary in May 2026, including a fatal collision near Heckfield on the A33. Residents or motorists who were in the vicinity of Great Binfields Road at the time of the collision are encouraged to contact the local police force. Information can be reported to Hampshire Constabulary by calling 101 for non-urgent queries, or by using their official website to provide details. In the event of an emergency, residents should continue to contact 999.

The Basingstoke East policing neighbourhood team is continuing to process evidence as part of their standard procedure for such investigations. Officials have noted that dash cam footage is particularly valuable in establishing the events surrounding road traffic collisions in the area.
