Ipswich Rugby Club is inviting the community to get active this summer by hosting a free series of touch rugby sessions and a competitive corporate festival at its Humber Doucy Lane grounds.

The Summer Touch Series begins on 27 May 2026 and will continue every Wednesday through 29 June 2026. Taking place from 7:30pm to 9:00pm each week, the sessions are open to people of all ages and abilities. Participants do not need to sign up in advance to join the non-contact games, which are designed to provide a welcoming environment for everyone.

Following the weekly series, the club will host a Corporate Touch Rugby Festival on Saturday 5 July 2026. This event is aimed at local businesses and groups, featuring mixed-gender teams of 10. The day will include BBQ and bar facilities, alongside music designed to create an Ibiza-style festival atmosphere. No prior rugby experience is necessary to participate in the festival.

Michaela Taylor, speaking for the club, said, “This is about more than rugby – it’s about bringing people together. Whether you want to get fit, meet new people, strengthen workplace culture, or simply enjoy a brilliant summer evening, the Summer Touch Series and Corporate Festival are for everyone.”

Founded in 1870, Ipswich Rugby Club operates under the Rugby Football Union through the Eastern Counties Rugby Union. The club currently fields four men’s teams, a women’s team known as The Scorpions, and youth squads for all ages. Club leadership includes Chairman Mike Hancock and President Roy Steward.
