The Folk Festival on Poole Quay returns on Saturday 27 June and Sunday 28 June, with free events running from 11am to 6pm each day on the waterfront. The weekend will feature 15 live folk music performances, Morris dancing, children’s fairground rides, face painting and other family-friendly activities.

The event is organised by Poole Quay Events CIC and is backed by Poole BID as headline sponsor, with Hall & Woodhouse as a supporting partner. According to the festival listing, it is a much-loved 30-year tradition celebrating folk music, dance and community by the sea.

Poole Quay Events CIC is a not-for-profit community-focused events company founded in 2024 by Anna Doyle, formerly of the Lord Nelson pub, and Michelle Smith of the Poole Arms. The group has taken on the festival in its latest chapter, after its long run as a fixture on Poole’s summer calendar.

Poole BID chief executive Jacqui Rock said the festival brings thousands of visitors into the town, boosts local trade and strengthens Poole’s cultural identity. The weekend is part of a wider run of quayside events aimed at drawing people to the harbour area during the summer.
