A touring LEGO event is coming to Luton this summer, taking over the sports hall at Lea Manor Recreation Centre for an entire day. The Brick Festival arrives on Sunday, 23 August 2026, promising live speed building competitions, elaborate displays, hands-on activities, and a marketplace of current and retired sets, minifigures, and loose bricks.

The event will close the centre’s sports hall all day, confirmed Active Luton, the charitable trust that runs the Northwell Drive facility. That means no badminton, five-a-side football, or other hall-based activities on the Sunday. The gym, swimming pool, and fitness studios remain open as usual, but regular hall users should plan around the closure.

General Manager Nick Hooley oversees the centre, which typically offers a modern gym, 25-metre pool, and group fitness classes alongside the large and small sports halls. With the Brick Festival filling one of those spaces, families, collectors, and adult fans of LEGO of all ages are encouraged to book early. Organisers say advance tickets are strongly recommended because the events regularly sell out.
