A sunset swim and wellness evening at Dinton Pastures Activity Centre will raise money for Launchpad Reading on Sunday, 21 June 2026, following a sold-out inaugural event last year.
The Solstice Sunset Swim includes a welcome drink, guided meditation, yoga, a sound bath, and an open water dip at sunset, with a portable sauna also available. Tickets start at £15 and spaces are limited. The 2025 event raised £2,000 for the homelessness prevention charity and led to some swimmers signing up for regular donations. Fundraising Manager Fiona Keyte said mental wellbeing is a huge part of recovery for the people Launchpad supports, adding that events creating space for pause and reflection are particularly meaningful.
Launchpad provides temporary accommodation and support for roughly 100 people in Reading who are homeless or at risk of losing their home, helping them secure more permanent housing. The charity is one of four partners in Tap for Reading, a contactless donation scheme launched by Reading Borough Council and Reading’s Business Improvement District in January 2025. Donations are split equally between Launchpad, St Mungo’s, The Salvation Army, and YMCA Reading, with tap points at The Oracle, Broad Street Mall, and Reading Station. Cash raised goes directly towards clothing, food, travel, furnishings, and specialist courses for people sleeping rough or at risk of doing so.
Entry is open to those aged 14 and over, though under-18s must be accompanied by an adult. Further registration details are available on Launchpad’s website.
