Luton’s 50m competition pool will be closed to the public for two weekends this summer while local swim clubs take over the venue for galas. The pool at Inspire: Luton Sports Village is shut all day on Saturday 20 June and Sunday 21 June for the Team Luton Swim Club Gala, and again on Saturday 4 July and Sunday 5 July for the Putteridge Swim Club Gala.

The facility, operated by the registered charity Active Luton, also houses a 20m community pool that remains available during the events. Active Luton has warned that the car park is likely to be busy while the galas are on and said the schedule may be subject to change.

Inspire general manager Lindsey Bierton oversees the Butterfield Green Road site, which features two pools, a Poolpod for inclusive access and diving facilities. Active Luton posted the closures on the centre’s webpage and advises anyone planning a swim on those dates to check before travelling.
