A free four-week Customer Service Practitioner Skills Bootcamp is set to begin this month at Havant and South Downs College’s Leigh Park Learning Centre, offering a guaranteed job interview for eligible Hampshire residents.

The course, part of a government-funded programme, is open to unemployed or self-employed adults aged 19 and over. It starts in June and is delivered by HSDC in partnership with Hampshire County Council. The council secured £7 million from the Department for Education to continue the initiative for a third year.

The bootcamps have been developed with employer input to fill skills gaps in the region. More than 3,100 adults have already taken part in Hampshire’s scheme, which forms part of wider employment support services. The college’s spring delivery drew strong feedback, with one learner saying they now felt “far more knowledgeable and confident enough to hopefully secure a successful job in customer service.”
