Fleet Town FC has appointed medical equipment entrepreneur Markus Grad to its board of directors, adding commercial expertise to the Hampshire non-league club during a period of change both on and off the pitch.

Grad founded British Medical Auctions in 2015, building an international online marketplace that works with the NHS and private hospitals to sell retired medical gear. The Berkshire-based company now counts more than 5,000 active buyers across four continents and diverts over 10,000 items from landfill every month. British Medical Auctions was later acquired by TBAuctions, a subsidiary of Europe’s largest auction house, with Grad staying on as chief executive. In 2021 he was named among the LDC Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders, a programme backed by The Times.

A lifelong Chelsea supporter, Grad also brings grassroots coaching experience from his time at Ascot United FC. He joins a board chaired by Darren McGrath, with Jamie McClurg recently installed as first team manager, as the club pushes for development on multiple fronts. Grad said he was “incredibly proud to be joining Fleet Town FC at such an exciting time,” according to a statement on the club’s website.

His role will focus on supporting community engagement and long-term growth, aligning with the club’s wider drive to strengthen its roots in Fleet while building a sustainable future.
