Adults in Ipswich can try a free yoga workshop at Ipswich County Library this Saturday. The hour-long session takes place at the Northgate Street library on 20 June 2026, and forms part of the library’s programme of community activities run by Suffolk Community Libraries.

The workshop is open to adults and requires no payment, though residents should contact the library directly ahead of the session to confirm attendance details and any registration requirements. The session reflects the library’s ongoing push to offer wellness events alongside its traditional book-lending services.

Ipswich County Library has been a fixture of the town centre since it opened on 3 September 1924. Designed by local architect Henry Munro Cautley, the Grade II listed building combines Tudor and Gothic Revival styles and was part-funded by a £22,500 grant from the Carnegie Trust. The service itself moved under Suffolk County Council management in June 2025, when Suffolk Community Libraries took over from the former independent charity Suffolk Libraries.

Residents looking for regular yoga classes elsewhere in the town can also find sessions through Yoga for Everyone, which holds classes at Castle Hill Community Centre, Alan Road Methodist Church, and online via Zoom.

The library, at IP1 3DE, continues to offer books, e-resources, free Wi-Fi, computer access and study spaces, with rooms available for community hire.
