A summer street food festival is returning to Welwyn Garden City this month, bringing traders, live DJ sets and a mobile bar to Stonehills Square. WGC BID has scheduled the Street Food Heroes events for Thursday 9 July and Thursday 13 August 2026, both running from 4pm to 9pm.
Stonehills Square, between John Lewis and the Howard Centre, will host a rotating line-up of food stalls offering dishes from multiple cuisines. A DJ will provide the soundtrack, while a mobile bar serves drinks throughout the evening. Organisers describe the gatherings as family and dog-friendly.
The series first appeared in Welwyn Garden City in 2024 and now runs monthly from April to September. A larger Saturday edition, branded Street Food Super Heroes, arrives on 12 September 2026 from 12pm to 7pm. That event adds superhero-themed entertainment, including face painting and character photo opportunities.
The street food markets form part of WGC BID’s wider summer programme, which also features Dino Day, circus workshops and regular markets. All sessions take place in the square at AL8 6AE.
