Hinckley-born forward Jake Brown has completed a return to his hometown club Hinckley AFC ahead of the 2026/27 campaign. The move reunites Brown with manager Ross Innes and joint manager Adam Davies, the pair who previously brought him to Atherstone Town.

Brown first played for Hinckley in 2019 under Courtney Belford, making 18 appearances and scoring three goals, primarily from midfield. His form that September earned him the Supporters’ Player of the Month award, with 34% of the vote. Since then, the versatile attacker has turned out for Atherstone, Leicester Road, Ashby Ivanhoe, and Lutterworth Town. Innes was clear about what the signing brings. “Browny is someone we brought in during our time at Atherstone because we knew exactly what we were getting, a grafter, who can look after the ball, is willing to put his body on the line, and always performs consistently,” he said. “Jake has never let us down, and he will bring a tonne of experience to our changing room.”

Brown himself pointed to the pair’s shared history at Atherstone, where a cup match against Hinckley in April 2023 was abandoned after crowd trouble during a penalty shootout. “It is a real pleasure to be linking back up with Ross and Adam at Hinckley AFC,” Brown said. “We had a very successful time together previously at Atherstone and I want to contribute to that at Hinckley.” The club was formed in January 2014 after the liquidation of Hinckley United and is owned by its supporters. Hinckley secured the Division One title on 6 April 2024 and now compete in the United Counties Premier Division South, step five in the football pyramid. Brown’s arrival strengthens a squad looking to build on a mid‑table finish in their first season at that level.

The announcement, made on 1st July 2026, is part of Hinckley’s pre-season activity as they prepare for the new campaign.
