Try Tag Rugby Coventry & Warwickshire already runs regular leagues in Leamington Spa on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, alongside a Monday league in Coventry, with around 400 players taking part each week.
The summer tournament follows the same format as the region’s flagship TagFest, which has been an annual fixture for at least five years. The 2024 TagFest drew 12 sides to Leamington RFC and featured pool stages before knockout rounds for Cup, Plate and Bowl trophies. Licence managers Troy Perkins and Alan Robinson oversee the Coventry and Warwickshire operation.
This year’s venue at Newbold Comyn Country Park, postcode CV32 4EW, has on-site parking, changing rooms and is a seven-minute drive from Royal Leamington Spa railway station. The park is already the regular home of the local weekly leagues.
Spectators are welcome, and the tournament forms part of Try Tag Rugby’s wider push to grow adult community sport across Warwickshire. The organisation launched a new league in Rugby town in 2023 and continues to draw sides from beyond the county for its summer events.
