Leamington Rugby Football Club is marking its centenary with a free community event featuring an 80s television-themed inflatable assault course. “Its a Centenary Knockout” runs from 11:00 to 17:00 on Saturday 11 July at the club’s Moorefields ground on Kenilworth Road.
Teams of six to ten people can tackle the course. Entrants must be at least 15 years old, but there is no upper age limit. Entry is free. Organiser Tom Chandler has put the focus firmly on fun, with the event promising what the club calls “80’s TV pandemonium.” To book a place, contact Lucy Ramsbottom on 07904 105584 or email [email protected].
The club was formed on 22 April 1926, when residents gathered at Leamington Town Hall to establish a permanent rugby presence in the town. It moved to Moorefields in 1970, and the centenary year officially launched on 27 April 2026 when the first XV beat Droitwich 36–14 at home. Earlier celebrations included a Centenary Golf Tournament on 24 June, and the annual general meeting follows on 29 July.
