Norwich will host the 2026 Lord Mayor’s Weekend from Friday 10 to Sunday 12 July, with the theme Wild About Norwich celebrating the city’s green spaces, wildlife, creativity and community spirit. Norwich City Council has released full details of the free three-day event, which includes live music, a garden party and the traditional Lord Mayor’s Procession.
Cllr Karen Davis, Lord Mayor of Norwich, said this year’s weekend is shaping up to be another fantastic occasion for the city. The civic charity partner for 2026 is Norfolk and Waveney Mind, who support people with a range of mental health needs and provide a variety of services and training.
The Lord Mayor’s Procession sets off from Norwich Cathedral at 3pm on Saturday 11 July and makes its way through the city, ending at Chapelfield Gardens at approximately 4.30pm. More than 30 entrants are set to take part, including schools, community groups and local charities. Participants have been working with local artists to bring their visions to life.
Live music will fill Chapelfield Gardens and Hay Hill across the weekend, while the Lord Mayor’s Garden Party takes place at Chapelfield Gardens. On Sunday, the Norwich Lanes Fayre and the Norwich Duck Race at 2pm from Lady Julian Bridge add to the programme. All events are free to attend and suitable for all ages.
Last year the event ran with a different theme, and this year’s procession entry deadline closed on 1 May. The full programme and timings are available on the council’s website.
